Robson’s Jewelers began with a dream. In 1926, master watchmaker Robert Robson opened our first jewelry store in Baytown, Texas, after years of training in England and working across the American South. What started as a small shop has grown into a legacy carried proudly by four generations of the Hargrave family.
For nearly a century, we’ve remained committed to the values Robert built his business on: honesty, craftsmanship, and community. From repairing railroad watches during World War II to designing custom engagement rings today, our family has been honored to serve yours.
As Baytown has grown, so has Robson’s. We’re proud to still be family-owned and operated, offering the same personal service and expert craftsmanship that’s been trusted since day one.

Birth of a Craftsman
Robert Robson was born in North Shields, England. From a young age, he developed a fascination with provision watchmaking.
Training in England
Robert honed his skills in Wilson and Gille, mastering marine chronometers - vital instruments for global navigation.
Early 1900s
Family & Early Stores
Robert married Hattie Florence Larson. The couple traveled through the South, living in Florida and Louisiana, where Robert successfully ran his first jewelry store for over a decade.
1926
Journey to Baytown, Texas
Drawn by the booming oil industry, Robert relocated to Baytown (then called the Tri-Cities). Housing shortages forced him to live alone for 6 months before reuniting with his family.
1903
A New Beginning in
America
Fueled by ambition, Robert called to the U.S. and settled in Gulfport, Mississippi. He began work at J.D. Radford Jewelry.
Family Dedication & Resilience
Robert's five children joined the business, learning jewelry and watch repair. Despite the Great Depression and WWII, Robson's Jewelry thrived through family commitment and quality service.
1940s
Wartime Precision
During WWIl, Robson's became an official service center for railroad watches, ensuring precision timekooping critical for American railroads.
1942-1981
Second Generation Leadership
Robert's daughter, Grace, and her husband, Norman Hargrave, keep the business through four decades, carrying forward the Robson legacy of craftsmanship and service.

Third Generation Legacy
Their son, Norman Robson Hargrave, continued the tradition, guiding the store through modern times while honoring family values.
Robson's Jewelry Opens
The first Robson's Jewelry store opened in the Brunson Building in Old Baytown. Rapid growth soon led to moving into the Guberman Building and kater the Stiles Building on Texas Avenue.

Meet our owner, Paul Douglas Robson Hargrave — a Jewelry Designer, Jeweler, GIA Gemologist, and Certified Insurance Appraiser with over 25 years of expertise. As a fourth-generation jeweler with a background in wholesale diamonds and appraisals, Paul hand-selects only the rarest, highest-quality stones for his clients. When making one of life’s most important purchases, you deserve the assurance of working with a true expert whose credibility is unmatched.

Christine Rossi is a Sales and Diamond Specialist with over 10 years of experience in the jewelry industry. DCA-certified and passionate about design, she loves creating custom diamond engagement rings and one-of-a-kind pieces that tell her customers’ unique stories.
Christine believes that every great piece of jewelry starts with a personal connection, and she takes pride in building lasting relationships with her clients. As a social media expert, she enjoys sharing her creative process and helping others find inspiration for their next treasured piece.
When she’s not designing or helping customers find their perfect diamond, you can find Christine playing in pool tournaments or hunting for antiques, always searching for beauty and inspiration in unexpected places.

Brooke, a sales associate at Robson’s Jewelers, pairs her love for fine jewelry with ongoing training through the Diamond Council of America’s diamond course. A University of Houston Clear Lake graduate with a degree in Marketing, she brings professionalism, creativity, and warmth to every client interaction. With her eye for detail, dedication to learning, and passion for helping customers, Brooke is a valued member of the Robson’s team.

Dawn Wallace, acting floor manager at Robson’s Jewelers, brings 43 years of service experience, including 15 in the jewelry trade. As a DCA-certified diamond and gemstone professional, she combines technical expertise with a passion for helping clients find the perfect piece. Beyond her professional accomplishments, Dawn’s warmth, leadership, and dedication to both her team and clients make her an invaluable part of Robson’s Jewelers.

Master Jeweler
Calvin, a Master Jeweler at Robson’s with 28 years of experience, carries on his family’s tradition of fine craftsmanship that began in Vietnam. Known for his precision and artistry, he creates everything from delicate necklaces to dazzling engagement rings with exceptional skill and care. Beyond the bench, Calvin finds inspiration in family, gardening, and travel, bringing passion and creativity into every piece he designs.

Meet Maddie, the powerhouse behind the scenes at Robson’s Jewelers, where she keeps everything running smoothly from inventory to events. A Sterling High and Lee College alum with six years at Robson’s, she’s known for her sharp organization, contagious laughter, and genuine care for the team. Whether she’s coordinating the store or flaunting her flawless nails, Maddie brings energy, heart, and a touch of sparkle to everything she does.
